株式会社ヨドバシカメラ（本社：東京都新宿区、代表取締役：藤沢和則）は、卓越したアドベンチャーおよびアクションスポーツ写真をたたえる国際的な写真コンテスト「The Illume Awards 2026」のオフィシャルスポンサーに就任いたしました。また、本パートナーシップの締結を記念し、東京・池袋の石井スポーツにて「Climb（クライミング）部門」の受賞者を発表いたしました。

■ 東京・池袋「石井スポーツ」にて「Climb（クライミング）部門」受賞者を発表

パートナーシップの幕開けとして、ヨドバシカメラと石井スポーツは、東京・池袋の石井スポーツにて「The Illume Awards 2026」の「クライミング部門」受賞者発表イベントを開催いたしました。アクションスポーツフォトグラファーのジェイソン・ハレイコ（Jason Halayko）氏（@jason_halayko）が進行を務めた本イベントでは、数千点に及ぶ応募作品、そして20名の部門ファイナリストの中から選ばれた、オーストリアの写真家トム・クロッカー（Tom Klocker）氏（@tomklockerphoto）の受賞をたたえました。受賞作は、アイスランドの厳しい自然環境のもと、アイスクライマーのマリオ・アンデクスリンガー（Mario Andexlinger）氏が氷壁に挑む瞬間を捉えた迫力ある1枚です。発表にあたっては、オーストリアのクライマーでオリンピアン、スカルパ（SCARPA）アスリートでもあるジェシー・ピルツ（Jessy Pilz）氏も特別映像で登場し、ファイナリスト20作品を紹介しました。
大自然の厳しさとアイスクライミングの技術的な難しさを克明に捉えた本作について、受賞したクロッカー氏は次のようにコメントしています。
「非常に難易度の高い撮影で、高度なアイスクライミングの技術が必要でした。当日の神秘的な空気感が、氷や大地の色彩と見事に調和していました。」

受賞作品は、クリストル・ライト（Krystle Wright）氏、レナ・ドラペラ（Lena Drapella）氏、マット・ステットソン（Matt Stetson）氏、ウィル・ガッド（Will Gadd）氏、ステファン・グロヴァツ（Stefan Glowacz）氏をはじめとする、世界的なフォトグラファーやトップアスリート、業界のエキスパートで構成された国際審査員団によって選出されました。受賞者となったクロッカー氏には、ライカ（Leica）「D-Lux 8」、エンジェルバード（Angelbird）のストレージ機器、スカルパ（SCARPA）のクライミングシューズ、クーフ（COOPH）のカメラストラップが贈られるほか、作品は公式写真集「The Illume Photobook 2026」に掲載されます。

本イベントの東京開催を通じて、ヨドバシカメラと石井スポーツは、アウトドア・アドベンチャーとビジュアル表現の親和性を発信し、写真への情熱を通じてフォトグラファー、アスリート、そしてファンの皆様をつなぐ架け橋となることを目指しています。

Bringing international adventure and action sports photography to Tokyo

To mark the new partnership, Yodobashi Camera and ISHII SPORTS hosted the announcement of the Climb Category Winner of The Illume Awards 2026 at ISHII SPORTS in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

The event, hosted by action sports photographer Jason Halayko @jason_halayko, celebrated Austrian photographer Tom Klocker @tomklockerphoto, whose striking photograph of ice climber Mario Andexlinger in Iceland was selected as the winner from 20 Climb Category Finalists and thousands of entries.

Austrian climber, Olympian and SCARPA athlete Jessy Pilz was also part of the announcement, appearing in a specially produced video that introduced the 20 finalist photographs before the winning image was revealed.

Klocker’s photograph captures the technical challenge of ice climbing against a dramatic natural backdrop. Reflecting on the shoot, Klocker said:

“This shot was very challenging, and you had to have extremely good ice climbing experience. The mystical atmosphere that day went perfectly with the colors.”

The winning image was selected by an international judging panel of renowned photographers, athletes and industry experts, including Krystle Wright, Lena Drapella, Matt Stetson, Will Gadd and Stefan Glowacz.

As Climb Category Winner, Klocker receives a prize package featuring a Leica D-Lux 8 camera, Angelbird storage equipment, SCARPA climbing shoes and a COOPH camera strap. His photograph will also be featured in The Illume Photobook 2026.

By bringing this international photography celebration to Tokyo, Yodobashi Camera and ISHII SPORTS highlight the close relationship between outdoor adventure and visual storytelling, connecting photographers, athletes and enthusiasts through their shared passions.
